Carol Ann Duffy comes to Tonbridge

The Poet Laureate, Carol Ann Duffy C.B.E., will be performing a reading of her poetry at the E.M. Forster Theatre, Tonbridge School, on Friday 4th November, 7.30pm.

Carol will be reading from her new poetry collection The Bees, which is her first publication since the T.S. Eliot prize-winning Rapture, and her first new collection of poems since being named Britain's Poet Laureate. The Bees includes Duffy's celebrated poem 'Last Post' - a public dedication for the last surviving soldiers of the First World War - together with poems on subjects as diverse as political anger, drinking, love and the weather!

A book signing will follow the reading and copies of her recent collections will be available for sale on the night.
