A £13,000 cash grant will see Tonbridge Angels launching a new football in the community project.

The club's youth wing has been given the money by the Football Conference Trust.

It will go towards such projects as the Family Football Club, a healthy living and eating programme, and to building a special relationship with local schools and youth sports clubs.

John Gibbons, Head of Youth Football and a Director at the Club told the club's official website: "This is an exciting step forward for the Club.

"We hope that as the initiative progresses and with the involvement of the Senior Club and stakeholder such as our main Sponsors Hadlow College, the scheme can become a real force in Community Sport in the Tonbridge and surrounding area.

"We would like to thank the Football Conference Trust for their generosity, without which we would not have been able to launch the project".

Anyone wanting to find out more information should contact Jonny Ellwood who has been appointed the Community Scheme Manager, on 07894 823459.
