Does Hildenborough's village sign need sprucing up?

Driving past the sign that marks the entrance to Hildenborough today, it struck me that it was looking rather tired.

It looked a bit rusty, and I think it may need a bit of a spruce up.
I admit, it has been there for 18 years, but maybe it could be re-done for its 20th anniversary in 2014?
What does everyone else think? Am I just being a curmudgeon, or is it really in a bit of a state?
