Tonbridge woman seriously injured in Sussex A21 crash: Tonbridge man arrested for drink driving

Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious single car collision on the A21 Vinehall Road, near John's Cross at 9.40pm on Wednesday (September 19).
A Vauxhall Astra van was travelling south towards Hastings and collided with a tree and rebounded back into the carriageway.
The passenger, a 21-year-old woman from Tonbridge, Kent, was taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, with serious injuries but is in a stable condition.
The road was closed for around four hours while police investigated.
The 27-year-old male driver from Tonbridge, Kent, has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving, careless driving and driving while disqualified and remains in custody on Thursday morning.
Anyone who saw the vehicle in the area or what happened is asked to call police on 101 quoting Operation Newmill.
