Looking for something to do at the weekend? Why not try out Trosley's eco-friendly visitor centre?

More than 200 kilogrammes of Kentish sweet chestnut were brought in by Larkfield construction company King and Johnson, to build the centre at Trosley country park, near Meopham, on top of the North Downs.

Now visitors - there are  140,000 of them every year - can enjoy the Bluebell Café serving local produce in the centre, a picnic area, and the natural surroundings.

There's also an activity room for schools visits, allowing children to learn more about what goes on outdoors, including its history, flora, fauna and wildlife.  The room can be privately hired for meetings and events.

Easy access is available, and disabled parking bays are near the main entrance.

The purpose-built centre was deliberately designed with sustainable features, including rainwater harvesting, native plants growing on the roof, and a wood-burning boiler. The wooden structural frame for the building was manufactured by OFP, a  construction firm from Sandwich.

Thank you. I am looking for another park to use when Manor Park in West Malling gets Highland Cattle in to grave - I don't fancy sharing the park with cows thank you!
