I am very cross about the Mayor's golden chain having more than £7k of OUR money spent on it. According to the Courier today this is more than the mayor raised in her charity efforts last year. Is this some kind of a joke? I am really appalled and upset. I supported the mayor's charity bike ride this year but I shan't be again. I feel cheated. This is SOOOOO wrong. TMBC should be ashamed.

Well, what are they supposed to do? Let the mayor's chain fall apart? Honestly, if the mayor turned up in a shabby chain there would be derogatory headlines saying 'look at all the cash the Tories have in Kent - and they can't even look half decent.'

The Chain is the only item the Mayor wears (No robes etc).
