Fears have been raised over the future of Paddock Wood's annual Hop Farm Festival after promoter Vince Power's company Music Festivals plc called in administrators.

The move came after poor ticket sales contributed to a trading loss in the year to December. Trading in its shares was suspended on Friday.

A company statement read: "The board of Music Festivals has resolved to appoint an administrator and once that appointment has been agreed a further announcement will be made in due course."

The popular rock event, previously headlined by such acts as Bob Dylan, Prince, Neil Young and Eagles, has run at The Hop Farm events venue on the first weekend of July every year since 2008.
