A mystery attacker is waging war on Kent's speed cameras by placing stickers over the lenses so they cannot work properly.

Workers at the Kent and Medway Safety Camera Partnership have been forced to remove stickers and glue from several machines across the county.

The first spate of attacks happened last month - and the culprit struck again over the weekend.

A partnership spokesman said the group didn't have the resources to keep undoing the damage - which renders the cameras useless.

In an open letter to police commanders and Neighbourhood Watch leaders, Katherine Barrett urged them to keep an eye out for the culprit.

While not revealing exactly where the attacks took place, she said: "Cameras exist where people have been killed or seriously injured.

"We're keen that your local cameras in your local areas continue working in order to continue reducing the speeds for your communities."

She said the vandal, if caught, could face jail for perverting the course of justice.
