Caxtons Chartered Surveyors are tonight presenting new shirts and equipment to Town Malling Cricket Club. The presentation and photos will be held from 6.45-7pm this evening (Friday 13th May)

Town Malling Cricket Club was founded in 1827, and the ground (The Old County Ground in West Malling) was originally the home of the Kent XI with the first recorded game of cricket in Kent played there in 1705.

Junior Cricket only started at Town Malling in 2007 when three members got together with the aim of getting their coaching qualifications to give something back to cricket and engage local children. In 2007 the club coached 15-20 children on a weekly basis and by 2010 they had 80 children age 5-15 from West Malling, Kings Hill and the surrounding area playing and enjoying the game of cricket. Now, due to generous support from local business Caxtons Chartered Surveyors, the club has been able to buy sufficient cricket shirts and additional equipment to allow 100+ local children enjoy cricket coaching every Friday evening - plus many play regular league games in one of three teams.
